Gilbern out in the Jaffa stages yesterday. It was nice for the Jones family to have 4 cars running. A bit of bad luck for Chris and Sean with their rides, but Phil in the MK1 escort, and also the S.C.M. Gilbern Genie both had 2nd in our respective classes. A genuine appreciation to Carmarthen motor club for another fantastically run event and all the marshalls. A huge thanks to Dan Bowen, Rhys Jenkins and Lee Thomas who were fantastic on the tolls for keeping us going all day. Another big shout out to Ben Saunders for his first time navigating at a stage event, keeping me calm and clean and eventually getting us a great result.
Nice clean MGB in for new, rear drop links, new front wheel bearing, new ignition barrel and a service. A young lad owns it and it's really nice to see younger enthusiastic owners starting to pick up the baton
Lovely Triumph GT6 in as a non runner. Been off the road for a while and needing a complete fuel system overhaul from a brand new tank, fuel lines, fuel pump and new parts in the carburettor. Also the electronic distributor had stopped working, this seems a very common problem lately.
Lovely Morris Traveller in the workshop. It's a recent purchase for the owner. He wanted it checked over. A few electrical issues and the handbrake wasn't very good. After new rear brake drums and a bit of fault finding on the electrics, she is good to go. It drives fantastic and everyone in the garage loved it.
